You can use vim to keep notes in plain text. Several plugins are available to help with this:

toodoo app on android is lightweight except it hasn't been updated for use with SAF, so can't export your tasks.

todo.txt format is interesting, although yet to find (search for) a TUI tasks with calDAV support on linux.

This document can be thought of as a style template for markdown notes. It's just a thing to help keep these text files somewhat consistent.
